About this Podcast
Is late-night television dying? No. It faces an even worse fate: becoming podcasts.
Since Lovett or Leave It launched and rocketed to the top* of the podcast charts, it’s been recorded live on stages like Dynasty Typewriter in Los Angeles and at sold-out theaters across the country, from Radio City to the Castro in San Francisco (plus Lovett’s backyard during COVID).
The show — hosted by Pod Save America co-host, former presidential speechwriter, and self-described comedian, Jon Lovett — started as a live comedy quiz show recorded at the Hollywood Improv and released as a podcast. Over the course of 500 episodes, it’s evolved and grown as Crooked has built an amazing audience and community, home to conversations you can’t find anywhere else. Lovett or Leave It is proudly the only show where you’ll find drag queens and senators equally confused as to where they are.
Now, America’s Number One Late Night Political Gay Live Comedy Podcast is getting bigger and better. Starting on April 30th, Lovett or Leave It is recording in front of a live audience on a stage at Interwoven Studios Hollywood. And the show is expanding, beginning with two shows each week. It’ll record live on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The monologues will air immediately on YouTube on Tuesday and Thursday nights, and the full episodes will post on Wednesday and Thursday mornings wherever you listen to podcasts.
There is just too much news to cover in one weekly episode. So the show is moving to a brand new studio to produce more episodes and turn those episodes around much faster. There’ll be more big guests and more of the jokes you love and the jokes Lovett refused to cut. And taping on this stage gives the show the ability to reimagine the production for viewers at home, while keeping the weird, wild energy of America’s best live audience.
So if you’re in LA, come to a taping at our new home at Interwoven Studios Hollywood! Be part of the live studio audience and see what we cut from the show, and what we don’t! And for everyone else, subscribe on YouTube and wherever you listen to podcasts. And follow @lovettshow anywhere content can be shoved in your face.
