Narrative Podcast Project Manager

We’re looking for a project manager with audio production experience to join our  narrative development and production team, based in Los Angeles. This is an extremely varied role that will be tasked to build out production teams, oversee said teams, and act as a hub within Crooked for multiple podcasts.

The Podcast Project Manager must be comfortable working on a wide variety of shows – within narrative documentary and longform journalism – and must switch between shows with ease and excitement. They must have great organizational capacities and the ability to communicate well.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Point of contact for Crooked communication with each project’s teams including hosts, production staff and researchers throughout development process
  • Oversee building of freelance production teams for each individual project
  • Oversee production calendar and budgets on behalf of Crooked and ensure project is on time and on budget. 
  • Liaise with different Crooked departments for each project, including Marketing, Design, Social Media, Finance, etc
  • Assist project team with any organizational needs
  • Provide edits on scripts and mixes as needed 
  • Plan field producing and reporting trips in collaboration with producers
  • Oversee the arranging for studio recordings and tape syncs and work with the finance team on budgets.


  • A minimum of four years of experience producing audio for radio or podcast
  • An understanding of the audio producing process from inception to completion
  • Proficiency in creating assemblies in ProTools
  • An eye for detail and self-direction
  • Ability to work with all kinds of people internally and externally
  • Great organizational skills and ability to learn new organizational software as needed 

Senior Story Editor, Narrative

We’re looking for an experienced story editor to join our development and production team, based in Los Angeles. This is an extremely varied role that will be tasked to help create new concepts, new formats and bring new voices to audio.

The Senior Story Editor, Narrative must be comfortable creating an overarching vision Crooked’s overall slate as well as for individual shows. They must also like working on a wide variety of shows – from daily production to narrative documentary – and must switch between show formats with comfort and excitement. They’ll be involved in writing, editing and mixing and be trusted to create shows that will captivate listeners. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Crooked creative communication with each podcast project’s teams including hosts, production staff and researchers throughout development and production process
  • Brainstorm, direct research for, and shape concepts for new shows along with assist evaluating shows that are being pitched and work closely with the Head of Development and Production on making sure that the concepts fit in with the overall mission for the company
  • Provide timely and in depth edits on story structure for scripts and mixes for a variety of narrative shows, assist in writing when necessary.
  • Assist in the post production process by cutting tape, overseeing the assembly mixes and the scoring of episodes
  • Assist in the creation of the sound, tone and style for each show and to create an overarching Crooked narrative voice. 
  • Work closely with the Crooked project manager to make sure that the vision of the show is being properly executed in a timely manner


  • Minimum of ten years of experience producing audio for radio or podcast
  • A journalism background highly preferred
  • An ability to listen to raw tape, and identify the perfect details, the need-to-know plot points, and the need-to-hear moments that make a story
  • Experience scripting minimum 15-20 minute audio stories
  • Proficiency in creating assemblies in ProTools
  • An eye for detail and self-direction

Client Partner

Crooked Media is looking to hire a Client Partner who will build and sell Crooked’s advertising solutions to our key partners benefitting from our proven Direct Response and Brand Building Solutions. You’ll contribute to our rapid and dramatic growth.  We are looking for demonstrated performance in a constantly changing, ambiguous environment, and problem-solving leadership with limited oversight. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Define and own account plans to unlock investments and drive client’s business key performance metrics
  • Partner with sales and strategists to structure and execute operational and strategic initiatives – developing account plans, synthesizing market related data, leading client analysis and defining Crooked’s overall business approach 
  • Prospect and penetrate organizations to drive alignment and influence executive and day-to-day contacts to execute against account plan
  • Develop performance marketing approaches for clients to leverage Crooked ad solutions
  • Own forecasting and accurate client analysis to support team planning
  • Create persuasive sales presentations using market trends, case studies and Facebook network solutions
  • Exceed sales goals for yourself and your team

Account Manager

Crooked Media is looking to hire an Account Manager who will play an integral role in sales operations and growth of Crooked’s direct and agency accounts. The Account Manager will be the lead point of contact with clients to execute and optimize client campaigns from kickoff to wrap, ensuring smooth execution, reporting, KPIs, and great client service. The ideal candidate will be effective in communication, organization, and critical thinking, while thriving in an ever-evolving, fast-paced environment. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as day-to-day manager of post-sale business and execution of campaign management including advertising calendars, client communication, client copy, QC of ad reads and other digital placements, and reporting
  • Focus on the post-sale cycle, delivering flawless execution and positioning additional revenue opportunities
  • Serve as the main point of contact for client copy, ensuring internal and external QC with regards to ad quality, length, and delivery
  • Ensure partner campaigns are listed on the partners area of Crooked website 
  • Clearly articulate campaign performance internally and externally
  • Create, deliver, and present client wrap reports. Utilize performance data and insights to strategize, position, and recommend renewal opportunities

Office Manager

Crooked Media is seeking a collaborative and obsessively organized office manager to facilitate day-to-day office operations and ensure that we have a productive, efficient, and enjoyable work experience. The ideal candidate will have organizational skills and a multi-tasking prowess that will ensure a positive and productive environment for all team members and visitors.  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform administrative duties for the office and ensure that the office is operating smoothly including booking travel, managing meeting room booking, and maintaining a master calendar for Crooked’s team meetings
  • Manage office supply ordering, inventory and vendor relations (including lunch, snacks/kitchen, office supplies and IT vendors)
  • Plan and execute company events, including monthly town halls, happy hours, parties and other celebrations
  • Perform receptionist duties: greet visitors, answer phone calls, provide parking validations and manage office security list. 
  • Receive and sort incoming mail and deliveries, and manage outgoing mail
  • Maintain office cleanliness and conduct regular walk-throughs to ensure organization and supplies
  • Work closely with our Chief of Staff to monitor and manage office budgets (supplies, events, repairs, parking, etc.)
  • Assist with office layout planning and office moves including ordering furniture and designing seating plans. 
  • Serve as point of contact between Crooked and building/parking management

Booking Producer, News & Entertainment

Crooked Media is looking for an experienced Booking Producer to join our News and Entertainment team, based in Los Angeles. The ideal candidate would be tasked with finding the best guest for a variety of Crooked podcasts, from Presidential candidates to comedians … and sometimes both. 


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Researching and booking a wide variety of notable experts, celebrities, and political figures for various shows on the Crooked platform..
  • Conducting pre-interviews, coordinating with show producers and booking studio time 
  • Liaise between shows and booking agencies, PR reps, agents and managers
  • Maintain and build guest database
  • Occasionally secure facilities for remote interviews
  • Brainstorm, source and pitch story ideas
  • Write introductions and prep questions for potential guests 



  • 3-5 years booking experience in either entertainment or journalism, including researching information and tracking down guests
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Marketing Coordinator

Crooked Media is hiring a rockstar Marketing Coordinator to join the team to bring marketing campaigns to life across political, content and brand priorities. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the intersection of politics, pop culture and media and eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This role reports to the Director of Marketing in our Los Angeles HQ.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage promotional and marketing calendars, working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that activities are being executed consistently across content, political and brand initiatives
  • Research, identify and present opportunities to grow audience and awareness for company wide priorities s
  • Work with content and social teams to package promotional assets for hosts & guests for content, live events and commerce
  • Update, maintain and organize assets, information, files and materials and coordinate to ensuring that collateral is up to date and that all teams are briefed on changes
  • Build & circulate recaps and reports to management, hosts and partners both internal and external
  • Maintain, manage and track influencer lists for merch and company calls to action—ensuring partners are receiving information and product in a clear and efficient manner
  • Work with Crooked live event partners and venues to ensure tracking towards ticket sales, communicating proactively with internal teams to bring all promotional efforts to life

Director of Social Content

So we’re looking to get into the meme game. If you think that’s not a fully fleshed out digital strategy, then we need to hire you because that’s as far as we’ve gotten. 2020 is an incredibly important year, so Crooked Media is looking for a Director of Social Content to implement a political and marketing social media strategy that generates shareable content, grows our audience, and make us seem as cool as @Wendys. This is a senior role that reports to the Chief Content Officer and will run a small team of social media associates. The position is based in Los Angeles.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a social media strategy to grow audience and build brand awareness among new audience
  • Lead, develop, and mentor junior staff members
  • Establish and build a distinct brand voice for news, politics, and marketing across all social platforms
  • Oversee team of social media associates to execute strategy on both original and promotional social content as well as community development
  • Develop and set annual social growth KPIs (engagement, followers, etc)
  • Research and integrate social media trends to maintain relevance of Crooked Media social brands

Social Media Associate, News & Politics

Crooked Media’s Good Idea #1: Twitter arguments are always worth it. 

See? This is why we need you. Crooked is looking for a Social Media Associate who can run our news and politics coverage, help implement growth strategies on all social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and others TBD), and tell us when our good ideas are bad ideas. Associate will report to the Director of Social Content and will calmly be able to answer when someone old yells, “WHERE DO I TIKTOK?” Candidates must have experience building and distributing social content and developing audiences for brands or individuals.   

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create and post social content for Pod Save America, Crooked Media, and Vote Save America social accounts 
  • Monitor and respond to daily news and political cycle in the Crooked voice 
  • Help develop Crooked-branded graphic and video content to drive engagement 
  • Help set and hit social growth KPIs (engagement, followers, etc)

E-Commerce Manager

Crooked Media is growing its e-commerce business (crooked.com/store) and we need to find a dynamic digital marketer & merchandiser who loves data, wearing (and selling) cool merch, and testing new ways to engage the Crooked audience through direct-to-consumer channels. The E-Commerce Manager will also be responsible for managing and growing Crooked’s audience and relationships across email and customer database. This role reports to the Director of Marketing in our Los Angeles HQ.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee e-commerce merchandising & marketing strategy to drive sales, meet revenue targets, and activate our highly engaged audience
  • Manage and execute monthly e-commerce calendar—both product & marketing
  • Manage store budget and relationships with key vendors, partners, and resources
  • Set and achieve growth targets for customer & subscriber acquisition/retention for e- commerce & content offerings
  • Lead marketing calendar for Crooked’s store – including but not limited to email, social media, house-advertising, search, influencer, paid, brand, and experiential to identify, build, implement, and measure marketing strategies

Crooked’s design team is growing and we need a talented freelance designer to create compelling visuals to help us win in 2020. We’re looking for a design generalist that enjoys working on a range of project types.

• Work with Crooked’s design team across a variety of projects
• Design social assets to support our podcasts and brands
• Work with Crooked’s political team to create social and marketing assets based on our political calls to action
• Support senior staff in developing new brands
• Help create physical props and material for video

• Create merchandise for the Crooked Store

  • All internships are paid and based at our Los Angeles Headquarters, we unfortunately cannot accept remote interns at the time being. If selected for an opportunity, interns are responsible for securing their own housing.
